- In Clarifier settled mud is filtered by vacuum filters and filtered juice is returned to be further processed while the Oliver cake is sent out.
- This juice is heated and then treated with milk of lime and sulphur dioxide. The treated juice is then further heated and sent to clarifies for continuous settling.
- Extracted juice mixed with water is weighed and sent to the boiling house for further processing. Residual bagasse is sent to boilers for use as fuel for steam generation.
- Cane is weighed using an electronic weigh bridge and unloaded into cane carriers. It is then prepared for milling by knives and shredders. Sugarcane juice is then extracted by pressing the prepared cane through mills.
- The evaporation plant extracts water from the clarified juice in several stages until the sugar content reaches about seventy per cent in the form of a thick juice.
- This thick juice is transferred to high-speed centrifugal machines, in which the mother liquor (termed "molasses") is centrifuged to the outer shell and the crystals remain in the inner centrifugal basket. The crystals are washed with water and the wash water centrifuged from the crystals.
- The finished sugar is dried, cooled, and transported to silos where it is stored temporarily. To meet customer requirements, the sugar is sieved and then sold loose or as packaged goods
