Steam Injectors

Steam Injectors are used for heating Water, Feed water, Process media, process liquors etc by direct injection of steam into the media. They are designed for quiet and efficient heating of the media ensuring thorough mixing, uniform heating and absence of temperature stratification.

It draws in cool liquid from one end and mixes it with the steam being injected. These ensure full utilization of the total heat as well as avoid Flashing and noise.

It is used in conjunction with Temperature control, Isolation valve, vacuum breaker, Control valve, Stop valve, Strainer etc. Tank dimensions, volume of media etc may demand the installation of more than one injector on a tank.

Steam injector is a product which uses direct steam to raise the temperature of water or other liquids.
The injector draws in cold liquid, mixes it with steam inside the injector and distributes the heated liquid in the tank.
In many applications, circulation induced by the injector ensures homogenous mixing and avoids temperature stratification.
Steam injector capacities when heating tanks of up to 3 metres deep and vented to atmospheric pressure. The Choice of control valve can affect the steam capacity.
It removes dissolved oxygen from boiler feed water to prevent corrosion & pitting of tubes in the boiler.
As we know, dissolved Oxygen can be removed either by adding chemicals or by heating water up to 85 Degree C.By heating boiler feed water to appx 85 -90°C, most of dissolve oxygen gets removed and then adding oxygen scavenging chemical into the boiler feed line, it further removes residual oxygen and thus consumes less oxygen scavenger. In addition to this, boiler efficiency improves.
The injectors can be fitted to the steam pipe or can be installed directly onto the tank wallusing a female threaded connection. For large installations, multiple injectors may be used.
A typical electro pneumatic system and a self-acting control system offers an economical solution forboiler feed tank applications. Pneumatic or electric systems can offer precise temperature control for process applications. Pipe work can be routed inside or outside the tanks. A more suitable systemcan also be offer to specific plant requirements.
