Kammprofile Gasket

Kammprofile gaskets are recognized as a problem solver for heat exchangers, large vessels, and equipment that experience excessive movement due to thermal expansion. Kammprofile gaskets consist of a sealing core metal with or without guide ring. The sealing core is a solid metal gasket with concentric serrations on both sealing surfaces and faced with soft material such as flexible graphite, EPTFE configuration depending on operating conditions. It is the preferred design when needing improved performance at low seating stresses.

Kammprofile gaskets consist of a sealing core metal with or without guide ring. The sealing core is a solid metal gasket with concentric serrations on both sealing surfaces and faced with soft sealing material such as flexible graphite, Expanded PTFE depending on operating conditions.
The soft facing material provides low stress gasket seating, while the serrated geometry of the metal core enhances sealing performance by causing stress concentrations on the sealing surfaces. The serrations minimize lateral movement of the facing material, while the metal core provides rigidity and blowout resistance.
Type A : Parallel root core for use in confined locations including male & female, Tounge & groove, and recessed flange arrangement. Type B : Pareller root core with integral centering ring suitable for raise face and flat face flanges. Type C : Pareller root core with loose fitting cantering ring which reduces the possibility of damage to the core as a result of mechanical and thermal shock. Type D : Convex root core ensures the highest contact pressure in the middle of the profile and excellent flow of soft sealing layer in to the flange surface. Type E : parallel root core with pass partition bars are suitable for male & female as well as tongue & groove flanges of Heat exchangers.

The recommended flange surface finish for UKL Kammprofile gaskets is 3.2 to 6.3 micro meter ( 125 to 250 micro inch CLA)
